MOSD Board & Staff Luncheon

MOSD Board & Staff Luncheon

Every year, as per tradition, the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf Board of Directors hosts a holiday luncheon on the last day before Winter break for all the staff members of the school.

This luncheon gives MOSD Board Members an opportunity to get to know the teachers, audiologist, speech therapists and administrators who make the school such a wonderful place for deaf and hearing impaired children from all over the Mid-South. They leave with an understanding of why the staff chose their career paths and what led them to the halls of MOSD. They also get to hear the funny and heart touching stories of day to day activities that go on here at the school.

At the same time, the staff has the same opportunity to get to know each Board member. They begin to understand the heart of each member and why they chose to serve on our particular Board of Directors. The staff gets to hear the background of each Board Member and how their backgrounds led them to volunteer unselfishly to serve the children and families of the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf.

This year, the Board of Directors surprised the staff by purchasing new table linens for all of the school's special events! They also gave each staff member a beautiful glass lighted ornament with a bonus for the year.

It is truly a special time and one that we all look forward to each year. We end the first semester of school with a better understanding of how each of us play a vital role in the success of the children we serve and a renewed energy to start the new year!
