MOSD Celebrates our Community Helpers

Our students got to spend time with some of the firefighters from the Germantown Fire Department! They learned all about what the firefighters do to ensure residents are safe in both medical and fire emergencies!

Marthel and Kim from Emergency Mobile Health Care, LLC visited our students at MOSD! We had so much fun seeing what was all inside the ambulance and learning how an ambulance works in our community to keep our residents safe and healthy!

Community Helpers continues with mechanic, Ron Wood from Pep Boys Auto showing our deaf children what it is like to be a mechanic and fix cars! Thanks to Ms. Cheryl for letting us “work” or her race car!

We were blessed to have Dr. Kaleb James Page D.M.D. from Meadows, Avery, Patel & Page Dental Group teaching the kids how to clean teeth, to brush our teeth, and to look for cavities and put a “bandage” on our cavities!! Check out all the activities the kids did throughout the day to learn all about being a dentist and what it means to have clean teeth!

Thank you, Officer Martin from Memphis Police Department, for visiting our school and teaching our deaf children what police officers do in our community to keep us all safe! The kids especially loved the part where they got to be fingerprinted!

We welcomed Kelsey Loebel from Confections and Connections to MOSD to talk all about baking. She makes some of the best cupcakes in the world, so we were so excited for her to come!

Welcome to Community Helper Days at our school! The first day, we had Dr. Drew, a veterinarian from The Pet Hospitals, visit our deaf children to teach them how to take care of our animals! We always love having Dr Drew visit us!
