Happy Holidays from MOSD!
We had a very busy month at MOSD! We got in the holiday spirit after our elves beautifully decorated the school. Our students wrote letters to Santa and even ate delicious beignets from the Voodoo Cafe food truck! We had some very special visitors this month as well. The Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, and the Gingerbread Man came by to read us some stories. On the last day of school, Santa came to give all of the good girls and boys at MOSD a gift!

Our Elves Decorated MOSD
Over our Thanksgiving break, Santa sent his Elves to MOSD to deck our halls! The elves left a sweet note for us pinned to the front door and on Monday morning we knew they had been there, making our school merry! They used their special magic to decorate 5 trees, one for each classroom, as well as a special tree for our lobby and even a tree that looks like a snowman! The elves didn't stop there. They decorated the HUGE Christmas tree in Pickler Hall with pictures of the students and the most beautiful ornaments we have ever seen! Thank you so much to our incredible elves for making MOSD look so beautiful this holiday season!
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, MOSD students wrote letters to Santa and waited anxiously to get a letter in return. This activity is an opportunity for vocabulary-building and literacy. We are so thankful for our special volunteers at Pickler Companies for taking the time to send our students letters in return, highlighting specific fun facts about each child. The students were so happy to not only tell Santa what they would like for Christmas, but to also receive a letter in return! Thank you again to our incredible "Santas!"
The Voodoo Cafe food truck brought gingerbread man beignets to the students at MOSD! Thank you to Mr. Mark for making our Gingerbread Week extra yummy!
Storytime with the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, and the Gingerbread Man
The Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, and the Gingerbread Man stopped by MOSD for a very special story time! Thank you to these incredible volunteers for coming all the way from Whoville to read to MOSD students.
Santa made a very special trip to MOSD on the last day of school!
