August 2025 at MOSD
A Month of Growth, Connection, and Community
August brought a joyful start to the school year at Memphis Oral School for the Deaf. Our classrooms were filled with bright smiles, eager learners, and moments that reminded us why early intervention and listening and spoken language education are so transformative.
Back-to-School Joy
Students returned ready to explore, learn, and connect. Classrooms buzzed with energy as children settled into routines, participated in story time, and engaged in play-based activities that build confidence, vocabulary, and communication. Teachers and therapists worked side-by-side to ensure every child began the year supported, encouraged, and celebrated.
Community Moments
This month also highlighted the strength of the MOSD community. Families, alumni, and friends shared meaningful memories and encouraged one another as the new year unfolded. Preparations were underway for our 16th Annual MOSD Golf Tournament on August 19—an important event that brings supporters together and strengthens the programs that help our children thrive.
Mission in Motion
Throughout August, we saw daily reminders of MOSD’s mission at work. Children practiced listening skills during songs and stories, participated in hands-on learning that supported language development, and experienced moments of success that set the tone for the year ahead.
Our audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and educators continued their collaborative work to ensure every child receives the individualized support they need to listen, learn, and talk.
Thank You for a Beautiful Start
We are grateful for the families, donors, volunteers, and partners who made August a meaningful launch into the school year. Your support helps our students gain access to the tools, opportunities, and experiences that make all the difference.
