Volunteer
Make a Difference in the Life of a Child
Volunteers are an important part of the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf (MOSD) community. By sharing your time and talents, you help create opportunities for children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and children with speech and language delays to build the communication skills they need to learn, connect, and thrive.
Whether you have a few hours to give or are looking for an ongoing volunteer opportunity, there are many ways to support our students, families, staff, and fundraising efforts.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities may include:
- Assisting with fundraising events such as SpeakEasy and the MOSD Golf Tournament
- Helping with event setup, registration, check-in, and guest services
- Supporting school celebrations and family events
- Assisting with office projects, mailings, and administrative support
- Preparing classroom materials and educational resources
- Organizing donations and wish list items
- Sharing your professional skills through committee or project work
Volunteer opportunities vary throughout the year based on the needs of the organization.
Our Commitment to Safety
The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority. Volunteers who interact with children may be required to complete an application, background screening, and any applicable child safety training based on their volunteer role.
Our team will provide guidance to ensure every volunteer has a safe, meaningful, and rewarding experience.
Join Our Volunteer Community
Whether you're volunteering as an individual, family, corporate team, school group, church, or civic organization, your support helps strengthen our mission and expand opportunities for children and families throughout the Mid-South.
