SpeakEasy 2026: Hidden in Plain Sight
May 2nd, 2026
A Night to Listen, Give, and Celebrate
Presented by: Pickler Companies

Hosted by Memphis Oral School for the Deaf (MOSD), SpeakEasy 2026 will once again bring together supporters from across the Mid-South for an unforgettable evening of generosity, glamour, and heartfelt purpose. This annual event isn’t just a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of voices that were once silent and now speak with confidence thanks to the life-changing programs at MOSD.

SpeakEasy 2026, presented by Pickler Companies, was an unforgettable evening celebrating the mission of the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf and the incredible children and families we serve.

Because of the generosity of our supporters, exciting things are already happening at MOSD:

• A new sound booth is coming soon, made possible through the generosity of David and Beth Pickler and Jonathan and Desiree Bawcum.
• A new ABR device will soon be added through our Hearing Heroes Campaign, helping expand vital hearing and audiology services for children.
• Our live auction was an incredible success, with multiple items selling twice thanks to the generosity and excitement of our donors and guests. Special thanks to our auction donors, as well as David and Beth Pickler and Bonnie and David Thornton for their continued support and generosity.
• Guests enjoyed incredible food from Heart and Soul Catering, Hueys and Pete and Sams, helping make the evening even more memorable.
• Live music from the Nick Black Band kept the dance floor full all evening long and brought amazing energy to the celebration.
• Guests were also moved by a heartfelt speech from Lara Thornton, who shared her family’s journey and the impact MOSD has had on their lives.

SpeakEasy 2026 was a true reflection of what happens when a community comes together in support of children with hearing loss. Thank you to every sponsor, donor, volunteer, attendee, and supporter who helped make this event such a meaningful success for MOSD.
