Here at the Speech & Hearing Center of the MidSouth, our Audiologists work to diagnose and treat hearing loss, dispense hearing aids, and ensure that our clients and students have the best tools for success. We are proud to work alongside these professionals to empower our students and their families.

MOSD’s audiologists serve patients with cochlear implants, bone-anchored hearing aids (BAHAs), and behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids, as well as anyone who needs audiological testing.

MOSD provides audiological services to patients of all ages in the clinic; including CI/Baha candidacy evaluations, initial programming after implantation, and subsequent reprogramming/troubleshooting. We also assist with in warranty replacements and upgrades of equipment for our patients.

In the MOSD Day school, each child receives thorough yearly audiological evaluations, device checks and maintenance as well as daily aural habilitation (listening therapy) to improve listening and speech skills.

The Speech-Language Therapy team at the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf (MOSD) works closely with teachers and audiologists to create individualized speech and language goals for each child. Therapy sessions incorporate classroom themes, and evaluations are conducted once or twice a year to track progress and adjust goals.

Services offered by MOSD speech-language pathologists include:

These services are provided on-site at MOSD to children of all ages regardless of hearing ability.

Additionally, MOSD offers teletherapy *as the providers discretion, which allows speech-language therapy to be delivered online via high-resolution video conferencing, making it accessible for families facing travel challenges.
