2017 Valero Benefit for Children Charity Luncheon

Valero Benefit for Children Awards MOSD $20,000!

Memphis Oral School for the Deaf was one of 19 non-profit organizations recognized during the 2017 Valero Benefit for Children Charity Luncheon on Wednesday. The Valero Texas Open Benefit for Children, a project of the Valero Energy Foundation, has proudly delivered more than $122 million to children’s charities across the U.S. since Valero's title sponsorship began in 2002. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, funds are distributed to children's charities in the communities where Valero has major operations. The result is a network of strong, well-supported agencies with the means to help thousands of disadvantaged, abused and neglected children. In 2017, the Valero Texas Open raised $11 million and Valero Memphis Refinery received $385,000 to distribute among the nominated agencies. Memphis Oral School for the Deaf received $20,000 in support of our programs serving children who are deaf and hard-of-hearing in the Mid-South.

Memphis Oral School for the Deaf is overwhelmingly grateful to Valero employees and sponsors for continued support of our programs which help deaf children gain the spoken language skills necessary to lead an independent life. We thank you!
