On the hottest day of the year—101°F—100 golfers and 20 incredible volunteers joined us at Memphis National Golf Club in Collierville for our 16th Annual Charity Golf Tournament in support of the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf (MOSD). Thanks to your dedication, this year’s event was our largest turnout ever and one of the most memorable to date.
Event Highlights
The day began with Chick-fil-A breakfast sandwiches and our popular Bloody Mary Bar, sponsored by Barons Barber Shop and Tito’s Vodka.
On the course, golfers enjoyed contests and raffles including:
• Putting Contest – Winner earned a custom club from Dixon Golf.
• Ball Drop – Winner split the pot with MOSD and received a bay rental + lesson from HIGHTEE, then generously donated it back to MOSD.
• Beat the Pro – Special thanks to Mike, our pro; the winner also donated their pot back to the school.
• “Drive Like Happy” Hole – New this year, golfers channeled their inner Happy Gilmore with a slapshot-style swing—resulting in plenty of laughter, smiles, and some hilarious videos.Morris the Alligator, dressed in his MOSD T-shirt, roamed the course spreading cheer, photo ops, and movie nostalgia.
A delicious lunch from Jim’s Place Grille and snacks from Whole Foods Germantown kept everyone fueled throughout the day.
Special Thanks
We are so grateful to the staff at Memphis National Golf Club for their outstanding hospitality.
A very special thank-you also goes to Canopy Fans of Collierville, who provided cooling fans at our contest holes, managed all setup and takedown, and generously donated a fan for our raffle winner.
Our Sponsors
This tournament would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors:
Tom & Beth Webb (personal donors)
The Family of Vivienne & Margaux Thornton (personal donors)
In Honor of Emery Abraham (tribute donor)
Looking Ahead
Thanks to the generosity of our golfers, volunteers, and sponsors, MOSD continues to provide children with hearing loss the tools to learn to listen, speak, and thrive.
Photos and videos from the tournament will be shared soon! If you have any you’d like to submit, please email them to Tjersti Webb, Advancement Manager, at twebb@mosdkids.org.
On behalf of our students, families, and staff—thank you for helping make this year’s tournament such a success. We look forward to seeing you back on the course next year!
With gratitude,
The MOSD Team
