Overview
Preschool - MOSD preschool empowers children with hearing loss or are hard of hearing who rely on assistive listening devices to have equal access to communication. The Preschool is an eleven (11) month program for children ages 2 through 6 years, that provides ongoing classes and therapies to help the children maintain and develop the skills needed to achieve their full potential. We are a LSL (Listening and Spoken Language program)
Development Programs - Our programs provide comprehensive support for children’s language and communication development. Sound Beginnings helps families create enriching environments through interactive activities and discussions on child development and hearing. Sound Transitions focuses on enhancing auditory and speech skills, involving parents in preparing their children for formal education. For children with speech or language delays, Sound Voyagers offers small class sizes and visual aids, while Sound Plus delivers personalized education that embraces various communication methods, ensuring each child’s unique needs are met.
Clinic - Audiology - Our team of audiologists provide services for all MOSD students, as well as outside clients of any age. Cochlear implants, BAHAs, and BTE hearing aids are all serviced by our staff.
Clinic - Speach Therapy - Our dedicated team of SLPs collaborate with MOSD teachers and audiologists to develop individualized speech and language goals for each child. Therapists also incorporate classroom thematic units into therapy activities. Speech and language evaluations are conducted one to two times per year to document progress and facilitate goal development.
